I always try to avoid spending unnecessarily while renovating, as it's way too easy to blow out the budget.
One of the easiest ways to update a kitchen is to put a fresh coat of paint on the cabinets and install contemporary knobs or pulls.
In my recent Dallas condo renovation, the cabinets were perfectly functional, but a little tired. As you can see, there were enough of them in this galley kitchen that installing all new ones would have added too much to the bottom line.
So, I rolled my sleeves up and got to work. (Okay, I hired a painter; I was too busy selling real estate!) I chose a neutral tone for this busy and oft-used space.
