I have two favorite colors, blue and orange. Orange always wins when I need to add interest to a room. Orange coordinates well with many colors, especially earth tones and blues. It is extremely useful for giving life to otherwise boring rooms and is often used by home staging companies for impact.
The key to using it successfully is not to overdo it. I think orange is the perfect color choice for accent pillows, draperies, floral arrangements, towels, shower curtains and accent pieces. Here are some great examples of how to use it wisely.

The drapes in the room shown to the left are a combination of navy and orange. They soften this room, which is painted in a simple white and would otherwise be cold and uninviting.
